This MTA project doesn't make much sense. It costs $7M. The MTA believes it will take 10 years to make up that loss from this station. I've been on plenty of rides to St. George in which they've decided to bypass the Stapleton and/or Tompkinsville stations. Why not continue to do that, or shut the station down? The MTA perpetually complains about not having enough money to do anything, yet they make this bold move. I'm patiently waiting to see what bus service cuts they decide to make.

Sorry, but the cost of the train ride all the way to the ferry sure beats the bad odds of dealing with the bad seeds of that whole area. I sure as hell would not want to be there in the after hours. I would think that there are plenty of people who will be hopping on the subway once in NYC and you will have to pay regardless. Do we not get a free transfer? I would rather pay the price to make sure I get to work on time and get home to my family by taking the train directly to and from the ferry.

So big deal! the Free Ride is
over for ALL Too manyFreeloaders
who were for years riding on the honest PAYING PUBLICS Backs!!
Many of these "unfortunates"use the s.i.r.t. as a place for robberies, assualts and worse.
I am NO FAN of the M.T.A.but
to me its unfair as well as criminal!
